1. Introduction
AccsiCapture is a comprehensive, highly accessible Windows utility built for professional screen capturing, multi-track video/audio recording, and live streaming. Originally designed with a strong focus on keyboard-driven accessibility and screen reader support, it has evolved into a powerhouse suite capable of replacing multiple dedicated recording apps.
AccsiCapture operates entirely via global hotkeys and a robust graphical interface, meaning you can control complex recording scenarios from within full-screen games or while navigating complex workflows without ever needing to minimize your current application.
Target Audience
AccsiCapture is designed for:
- Visually Impaired Users: It boasts complete accessibility integration. The Virtual Panel, distinct audio cues, and screen-reader compatibility ensure a completely eyes-free experience.
- Content Creators & Streamers: Those who require multi-track recording (capturing game audio, voice, and discord on separate tracks) for easier post-production editing.
- Educators & Professionals: Anyone needing to create high-quality, auto-ducking tutorials, presentations, or quick GIF demonstrations.
- Power Users: Users who rely heavily on keyboard shortcuts to maintain maximum efficiency and workflow speed.
Primary Use Cases
- Multi-Track Game Recording: Record your gameplay video, your microphone, and your Discord chat into completely separate files in a single session.
- Professional Tutorials: Utilize the "Auto-Ducking" feature to automatically lower background system volume whenever you speak, ensuring your voice is always heard clearly.
- Rapid Communication: Quickly capture a specific window, annotate it mentally, and instantly have it copied to your clipboard to paste into an email or chat.
- Live Routing: Hook directly into a specific application's audio and route it to your stream without capturing unwanted system notifications.
2. Core Recording & Capture Features
Screenshotting Modes
AccsiCapture provides five intelligent methods to capture your screen:
- Full Screen Capture: Instantly captures everything visible across all connected monitors.
- Selection (Free Form) Capture: Dims the screen and provides a crosshair with a built-in magnifier. Click and drag with your mouse to capture a pixel-perfect specific region. Right-click or press
Escto cancel. (Note: Keyboard users can use the Accessible Custom Selection System for precise keyboard-driven region capture.) - Active Window Capture: Automatically captures the window that currently has focus. If the active window (like the desktop) is invalid, a dialog will appear allowing you to select from a list of open windows.
- Keyboard Focused Capture: Captures the specific UI control (e.g., a specific button, text box, or list) that currently holds your keyboard input focus.
- Mouse Focused Capture: Captures the specific UI element currently under your mouse cursor.
Output Options: Screenshots can be instantly copied to your clipboard, saved directly to a file (PNG), or both simultaneously, configurable in settings.
Video Recording
Record your screen or specific applications at up to 240 frames per second (FPS) and up to 4K Ultra HD resolution.
- Recording Areas: Choose between "Full Screen" or "Selection" (Region).
- Smart Auto-Pause: When recording an application window, AccsiCapture tracks its state. If the window loses focus, minimizes, or is covered, the recording automatically pauses. It seamlessly resumes the moment the window is brought back to the foreground.
- Quality Presets: Choose from 144p (Very Low) up to 2160p (4K Ultra HD), scaling bitrate automatically for the best balance of file size and visual fidelity.
Audio Recording & Processing
AccsiCapture is equipped with a studio-grade audio pipeline that can be used standalone or combined with video:
- Formats: Supports both Uncompressed/Lossless (WAV, FLAC up to 32-bit Float) and Compressed/Lossy (MP3, AAC up to 512 Kbps).
- Sample Rates: Ranging from 8,000 Hz (Telephone quality) all the way up to 192,000 Hz (Ultra Studio quality).
- Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC): An advanced digital signal processing (DSP) filter that analyzes your system audio and subtracts it from your microphone input, preventing echoes when using speakers instead of headphones.
- Auto-Ducking: Automatically lowers the volume of your system (background) audio when you speak into the microphone. You can configure:
- Target Level: How quiet the background should get (e.g., lower to 20%).
- Release Delay: How long (in milliseconds) the system waits after you stop speaking before raising the volume back up.
- Voice Sensitivity: Adjusts the noise gate threshold to trigger ducking (Low, Medium, or High depending on your vocal volume).
GIF Recording
Quickly record your screen directly to an animated GIF file. You can choose to record the full screen or a region, and optionally set a maximum duration (in seconds) after which the recording will automatically stop.
3. The Main Screen Interface
AccsiCapture features a comprehensive GUI divided into functional panels:
- Dashboard: Features "Hero" action buttons to instantly start a Screenshot, Video, Audio, or GIF capture. Displays real-time recording durations and status text.
- Resources Panel (Mixer): A dynamic live audio mixer. Provides volume sliders and mute toggles for your default System audio, default Microphone, and any custom tracks you have added in your Resources.
- Stream Panel: A dedicated section to control the standalone audio streamer and toggle Virtual Camera outputs.
- History Panel: View a chronologically sorted list of all your recent captures. You can interact with this list to open files, open their containing folder, copy, rename, or delete them without leaving the app.
4. The Resources System (Multi-Track)
The core of AccsiCapture's power lies in its Resources system. Rather than just recording "the screen and the mic", you build a list of "Tracks".
Track Types:
- Mixed: Combines a video source with both an Audio Input and an Audio Output.
- Video Only: Captures a screen, region, or webcam with no audio attached.
- Audio Input: Captures a specific microphone or line-in device.
- Audio Output: Captures a specific speaker or headphone playback device.
- Application: Hooks into a specific running application (e.g., a game or Discord) to capture only its audio, ignoring all other system sounds.
- Audio File: Injects an existing local audio file into your recording or stream, complete with looping capabilities.
Global Multi-Track Behaviors: When Multi-Track mode is enabled in the configuration, starting a Video or Audio recording will capture all enabled tracks in your Resources list simultaneously.
- Separate Files: If checked, AccsiCapture creates a dedicated session folder and saves every track as an independent file (e.g.,
mic.wav,game.mp4,webcam.mp4). This is invaluable for video editors. - Single Mixdown: If disabled, the app intelligently mixes all visual and audio tracks into one standard media file.
5. Professional Audio & Video Effects
AccsiCapture includes a studio-grade effects engine. You can build and manage presets using the Audio/Video Effects Manager interfaces or the Virtual Panel.
Audio Effects Engine (12 Built-in Effects):
- Noise Gate: Mutes background noise when you stop speaking.
- Noise Suppressor: Erases constant background hums (like AC or PC fans).
- Voice Enhance (De-Esser): Softens sharp "S" and "T" mouth clicks.
- Equalizer (10-Band EQ): Shapes the tone of your voice (bass, mids, highs).
- Compressor / Limiter: Levels out loud shouts and quiet whispers.
- Volume Booster: A simple volume multiplier.
- Stereo Widener: Creates a 3D stereo image from a mono microphone.
- Echo / Delay: Creates rhythmic repeating copies of your voice.
- Reverb: Simulates physical spaces (rooms, cathedrals).
- Pitch Shifter: Shifts pitch without changing speed.
- Tempo / Speed Control: Changes playback speed.
- Vocal Tune & Formant: Digital tuning and "throat size" manipulation.
Video Effects: Apply various visual filters and enhancements to your captured video sources using the Video Effects Manager.
6. Advanced Streaming & Virtual Camera
- Audio Streamer: AccsiCapture can act as a real-time audio router. The standalone audio streamer captures your configured audio resources (with AEC, ducking, and effects applied) and plays them back in real-time. Note: To stream this perfectly mixed audio into other applications like Zoom, Discord, or Teams, you may need to install a third-party Virtual Audio Cable (e.g., VB-Cable) and set it as your streaming output device.
- Virtual Camera Output: You can configure AccsiCapture to broadcast any specific video track as a "Virtual Webcam" at the system level. This allows you to use your customized screen captures, regions, or application hooks as a camera source in software like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, OBS Studio, or Discord.
7. Virtual Panel & Accessibility
Accessibility remains at the core of AccsiCapture. It uses clear audio cues (WAV files) to notify you of every state change (Start, Stop, Pause, Errors).
The most powerful accessibility feature is the Virtual Panel. Triggered by a global hotkey, it temporarily intercepts your keyboard, allowing you to fully control the application's mixer, effects, and recording state with speech feedback, without ever looking at the GUI.

Edge Placement Keys (E, R, D, F)
Why is there a difference between the program's names and our movement? AccsiCapture natively crops images by extracting absolute physical pixels from your monitor. To draw a geometric rectangle on a screen, the software strictly requires four visual coordinates: the "Left Edge," "Right Edge," "Top Edge," and "Bottom Edge." However, as screen reader users, we do not interact with a visual 2D grid. We interact with a logical tree of elements using directional arrow keys. This creates a conceptual gap. To bridge this gap, we must map our logical directional movements directly to the software's visual boundaries:
Elocks the boundary you reach when you move as far Left as possible (Left Edge).Flocks the boundary you reach when you move as far Right as possible (Right Edge).Rlocks the boundary you reach when you move as far Up as possible (Top Edge).Dlocks the boundary you reach when you move as far Down as possible (Bottom Edge).
Step-by-Step Selection Workflow: Note: Because each key is strictly tied to a specific boundary, you can set these four edges in any order you prefer. The following is simply one logical example of tracing an element's perimeter without getting lost.
- Top-Left: Navigate to the top of your desired element (e.g.,
Ctrl + Up Arrow), then move to its absolute beginning on the left side (Ctrl + Left Arrow). Here, pressEto lock the Left Edge. - Top-Right: To avoid losing your place, move horizontally to the far right side of the element. Since you are still at the highest point, press
Rto lock the Top Edge. - Bottom-Right: Now, navigate all the way down to the bottom of the element (
Ctrl + Down Arrow). Since you are currently at the furthest right point, pressFto lock the Right Edge. - Bottom-Left: Finally, return horizontally to the far left side of the element (
Ctrl + Left Arrow). Since you are now at the lowest point, pressDto lock the Bottom Edge. - You have successfully drawn a bounding box using your movements! Press
Enterto capture this custom region.
- Jump to Edges (
Shift + E,R,D,F): HoldShiftand pressE,R,D, orFto instantly jump the cursor back to the currently defined Left, Right, Top, or Bottom edge respectively.
9. Configuration Settings Deep-Dive

11. FAQ & Support
How do I record my microphone and system audio into separate files? Go to Settings -> Resources. Check "Enable Multi-Track Mode" and "Save each track to separate file". Add two resources: one "Audio Input" (your mic) and one "Audio Output" (your system). When you record, they will be saved as two distinct audio files in a dedicated session folder.
Can I capture audio from just one specific application (like Discord)? Yes. In the Resources tab, add a new resource and set its type to "Application". The app will hook into that specific program and record only its audio, completely ignoring other desktop sounds like notifications.
Why did my video recording pause by itself? If your video area is set to "Active Window", it auto-pauses when that window is minimized or loses focus to ensure you don't record your desktop by accident. Switch your video mode to "Full Screen" or "Selection" to record continuously.
My hotkey isn't doing anything, what's wrong? Another application might be using that exact key combination globally, preventing AccsiCapture from registering it. Try setting a different, unique combination in the Settings.
